The photo of the group at the table shows some of those present. Back row from the left: John Rout (1950), Alan Johnson (1950), Barbara Sharman (1948), Colin Hale (1951), Colin Marr (1951), Jackie Free (Sims) (1950), Fred Brailey (1950), and John Jones (1953). Front row from the left: Jan Cook, Anne Flanagan (1958), Tony Pugh (1951), Elaine Hutchinson, (1951) Betty Phillips (Brannen) (1951) and John Jones’ wife. Others missing from the photo included: Mike Martin, (1952) Judith Neville (1952), Les Cook (1951) and Pauline Rust (1955), also Tom Doig (1951) and Kemal Ghafur (1951) who didn’t stay for lunch. Tony Pugh was prevailed upon to take the photo and his image has been edited in by Laurie Pate (1954).
Happy smiling faces included those of Elaine Hutchinson, Betty Phillips (Brannen) and Jacky Free (Sims)
This delayed reunion, which was originally instigated by Kemal Ghafur, finally took place at the Beefeater restaurant, Ware, Hertfordshire on 7 September and it went well. Twenty people attended, mostly from the 1950 and 1951 intake, but also from 1948 to 1958. Everyone seemed pleased to renew acquaintances and talk about old times and old friends, and there was a jolly mood around the table with much laughter.
